Code of Conduct

In order to provide our guests, vendors, and staff with the best and most enjoyable experience possible, as well as to preserve the integrity of competition and results, we require that all attendees abide by the following Code of Conduct:

  1. Sportsmanship: Remain cordial and calm when interacting with opponents and judges. Personal insults, offensive or taunting statements, arguing with finalized judge decisions, and behavior which is disruptive to gameplay or the smooth administration of the event are inappropriate. Deliberate attempts to circumvent any game rules or judge rulings will not be tolerated.

    1. Disagreement: Disagreements regarding gameplay, judgement calls, and rules during games are normal and likely to occur. While players may work to discuss and resolve these issues to their mutual satisfaction, please do not engage in sustained arguing – should you find yourself reaching an impasse, please promptly request a judge to resolve the issue. A resolution mutually agreed upon by players who then continue to play is not likely to be re-litigated by a judge after the fact unless found to be direct cheating.

  2. Competition Rules: Each event has an event page with rules and requirements for participating specific to that event. By purchasing an event ticket, you agree to read and abide by the rules and information page for that event, and will be expected to have done so.

  3. Harassment: Harassment includes (but is not necessarily limited to) negative, discriminatory, or offensive verbal comments, actions, or imagery pertaining to any individual’s or group’s age, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, body shape/size, race, national origin, religion, disability, physical appearance, etc. It also includes deliberately intimidating behavior, threats, unwanted sexual advances or behavior, display of excessively sexually explicit imagery, unwanted physical contact, stalking, or deliberately harassing photography.

    1. Remember that non-harassing photography of events and individuals is allowed in public spaces without the permission of all subjects, and will likely be undertaken both under the supervision of BZU as well as by private individuals. Please act accordingly.

  4. Language: Remember that this is a family event and children are present. Keep audible language family friendly.

  5. Odors: Be considerate of those around you by minimizing all possible sources of strong odor, be they biological, that of an applied product, or clothing.

  6. Apparel: Refrain from wearing apparel bearing offensive or otherwise-inappropriate imagery or language (bearing in mind the harassment section above). Again, remember that your photograph may appear on social media and online.

  7. Venue: Please adhere to all posted venue rules and policies.

Failure to adhere to the Code of Conduct may, at the discretion of BZU staff, result in action ranging from a request to rectify or cease the violation to, without warning, removal from the event with no refund. Purchase of tickets constitutes agreement to abide by this Code of Conduct, and to the potential consequences of failure to do so.
